A second broadcast of this firmware update is scheduled for the 26th to the 30th of March, 2007.
If you had difficulty with the first broadcast, please DON'T post in this thread - post in the other one in this section of the forums, and if we can discern a pattern in the difficulties, then I can update this thread with any solutions, to avoid people having to wade through too much unnecessary material.
Instructions for the update, and other information, are at http://www.toppy.org.uk/static/ota1340.shtml

| Does this new upgrade solve the problem of losing clock time if the power fails? |

It is exactly the same update as a couple of weeks ago, so no.
The changes are outlined in the news item.

Still no success with the repeat upgrade.
Same problem as reported previously. Toppy shows new, but never exits search mode.
Has Topfield given any response to the forum about all the failures ? It doesn't seem to have been very successful. I doubt many users who are not members of this forum even realise it is happening. |

Thanks to the Admin team for informing me of this 'over the air' firmware upgrade my near two year old Toppy is even better. Get in quick if you want the easiest way to update!
Even after two years I am a total novice to upgrades but it went without a hitch. I can now send recordings to a borrowed DVD recorder (drive getting a bit full), as well as benefit from the improvements to what is already a great piece of kit.
Cheers guys |

| Still no sign of the "twinkle" or any ability to find the OTA upgrade. |

same here Ryclark
I have subsequently done a factory reset and retuned - still no sign ?
The only thing I have done is delete a fair few channels after the scan - but the bbc channels are all intact - (I have removed 301,302,303 and 305 amongst others though) |
